But most body builders train one muscle group at a time because they want to add size. How can yoga help with that? And what happens when yourbidy gets used to yoga? With weights you can always increase weights or reps. Stretching is definitely over looked by body builders. I think the myth is that if you stretch you make your muscles longer which in turn makes it harder to get that bulky look. I may have just made that part up but that's why I don't. It goes back to the muscles that are beings used and understanding that you're using them all at once as opposed to just one or two at a time while lifting weights. While doing yoga you're not only using different muscles, but using them in a different way. Like when you switch exercises or increase resistance or weight. It's NEW to your body; therefore it may take some time for your body to get used to it. Not only are you reaching deeper muscle tissue, but you’re also stretching it out and lengthening them. Something a lot of body builder’s tend to overlook. Over time stretching will decrease the amount of built up lactic acid in your muscles and aid in faster recovery times helping BOTH your yoga practice and exercise routine. I've tried yoga and what scares me is that even though I can lift more than most people, yoga makes me so sore. It scares me because I'm suppose to be jacked. How can yoga make me sore??
